Apple Nutella Rice Cakes

IMG-1478.JPG

Sometimes it's the simplest snacks that soothe the soul and the tastebuds. Rice Cakes topped with peanute butter, thinly sliced Red Delicious Apple, and a drizzle of melted Nutella. I will admit that this is a tad on the messy side of snacking, but the thought of licking chocolate from your fingertips 😍😍🤤

Apple Nutella Rice Cakes

Yields: 1 Rice Cake
Prep: 5 minutes
Cook Time: 0
Total Time: 5 minutes

Ingredients & Utensils

1 Rice Cake (I used the caramel flavoured)

Quarter Red Apple, thinly sliced

1-2 teaspoons of Peanut Butter (or your choice of Nut Butter)

2 teaspoons of Nutella

1 small microwavable bowl

1 fork (this helps with the "drizzle" Nutella)

Let's Get Cooking!

1. Spread 1-2 teaspoons of your choice of Nut Butter. I had homemade Peanut Butter in my pantry, so I  slathered that on the Rice Cake.

2. Add the sliced Red Apples

CTD Tip: The thinner the Apple Slices, the better it tastes and you can put more apple slices on the rice cakes

3. In a small microwavable bowl, add Nutella and allow this to melt in the microwave for 10 seconds at a time, stirring in between. At the CTD HQ, 15 seconds was the perfect time for deliciously melted Nutella. Once the Nutella is melted, dip the fork into the Nutella and drizzle it on top of the Apple Slices.

There you have your delicious snack. Perfect for those afternoon sweet-tooth cravings AND takes less than 5 minutes to make! This is a win-win in my books!

Notes

1. Please substitute any of the ingredients to your dietary needs.

2. Variations: There are a plethora of variations to Rice Cake toppings; however, this Sliced Apple with Drizzled Nutella is usually my go-to since I seem to always have apples, PB and Nutella in my kitchen!

For any dietary restrictions on the Nutella, I have tried this Rice Cake topping without the Nutella and simply caramelzed the Apple Slices on a Non-stick pan with some cane sugar/maple syrup. This tastes like an Apple Pie!
