psst.. this recipe also works well with Red Mango!
Mango Saffron Shake
Servings: 2 glasses of Shake
Prep Time: 4 minutes
Cook Time: 3 minutes
Total Time: 7 minutes
Ingredients & Utensils
2 glasses
1 cooking pot + ladle
Blender/Magic Bullet
1 Alfonso Mango
1 knife + cutting board
1 *very ripe* Banana
1-2 pinches of Saffron threads
1 cup of Milk (of your choice)
Let's Get Cooking!
1. Add your choice of Milk into the cooking pot and place on stove-top. Add 1-2 pinches of Saffron threads. Turn the stove-top on. Allow the Saffron to infuse with the Milk on a low-simmer. Stir every 30 seconds, with a ladle, and let the Milk come to a slow boil. Once it comes to a boil, turn the stove-top off, set this aside and allow this to completely cool down.
Cooking Tip: Remember that the juice & sweetness is the most in the pit of the Mango!
2. Then cut the Alfonso Mango into thirds and take out all of the pulp. Remove the pulp even from the pit!
3. In a Blender, add the Banana, the pulp of the Alfonso Mango and the Saffron infused Milk. Blend together and pour into 2 glasses.
Enjoy your homemade luxurious & creamy Mango Saffron Shake!
NOTES
1. Substitute: You can also substitute the Alfonso Mango with 1 Red Mango or 2 cups of Frozen Mango that is thawed.
